Operation
It uses Heckler & Koch’s roller-delayed blowback operating system, firing 9×19 mm Parabellum cartridges from a closed bolt for smooth, controllable cycling in semi-automatic and automatic modes.
Chassis
The MP5 SD6 is built on the classic MP5 submachine gun receiver and chassis, providing a rugged and compact platform with space for an integral silencer and retractable stock.
Slide
Instead of a traditional pistol slide, the MP5 SD6 employs a reciprocating bolt and carrier assembly within the receiver that travels rearward to extract and eject spent cases and forward to chamber fresh rounds during firing.
Maintenance
Routine maintenance for the MP5 SD6 involves safely clearing the weapon, disassembling key components, and cleaning and lightly lubricating the bolt, barrel, and suppression assembly to help ensure reliable performance.
